Steve and Robin Rains
I have been involved in ministry since 1991. I married my incredible wife back in 1992 and have enjoyed the journey we have been on together. The Lord blessed us with two incredible sons, both of whom have brought joy in each season of life.
In late 2013 we sensed the Lord stirring a change of direction for our future. Midway through 2014 we were connected to LifePoint as they were walking through a transition. We moved to Valley Center in August of that year.
Family is really important to us, and is important in the life of our church. We truly believe that each generation brings value and significance to the vision of our church. We believe in being a church that doesn’t just stay within the four walls of our facility, but is actively a part of our community – serving, loving, and coming alongside.
I love spending time with my wife, and our kids. There is nothing like family time! As well, enjoying the outdoors or going to the gym provide some good therapy for me!
Our Pastors

Being back at LifePoint as the Youth and Spiritual Formations Pastor is an honor and a dream come true. Our family moved to Valley Center in 2018, and we had no idea we would be serving just a few blocks away from our new home a couple years later. That said, we believe God knew what He was doing, and He orchestrated our steps perfectly. When it comes to our ministry strategy with students, we realize we are watching a generation of students grow up in a largely biblically-illiterate, post-church, and internet-addicted culture. We want LifePoint Students to be a safe haven for these students to find rest, regeneration, and Truth. It is our top priority for students to experience the community that Jesus established in the Church, which hinges on faithfulness to the commands and commissions given to us by Christ and a sincere compassion for one another. Everything else builds on those two values: faithfulness and compassion.
When we aren’t too busy hanging out with our three awesome kids, Tia and I love to paint, go on walks, and drink lots of coffee together. Tia is a math and reading interventionist at the Valley Center Intermediate School and has inherited my hometown as her own: pouring into the lives of students and teachers everyday and sharing the love of Christ through her hard-work and dedication to our school district.

My wife, Amy, and I have been married since 2010. We both are from the Wichita area. I grew up in this church and it is an incredible honor to serve at the same church, where I decided to follow Jesus and was taught to live each day for Him. I came on staff in 2010 after volunteering under the previous children’s pastor for 18 months and was a youth and children’s pastor preceding.
Amy and I love to spend our free time together, with our five wonderful boys or visiting family and friends. I am a coffee snob and was the first non-manager certified Starbucks Coffee Master in Wichita. I love to read and am involved in the area elementary schools, where I am known as “the magic man.”
